Deep Relaxation – a Guided Meditation (online & in-person)

On Sunday, July 30th, we are offering a special session of Guided Meditation of Deep Relaxation. Following the instructions recorded from a Plum Village retreat, we will be lying down for the duration of the practice!
Join us and experience this meditative method of body mindfulness and self-care.

~3:50 PM: Introduction – Relaxation as a Practice
~4:00 PM: Guided Meditation of Deep Relaxation (with recorded instruction from the Plum Village tradition)
~4:45 PM: Self Massage
~4:50 PM: Open Discussion / Sharing
~5:20 PM: Adjourn

You may join any or all segments of the evening. If you are joining us in-person and arrive late, please gently knock on the door and wait for someone to let you in.
- Please read our “COVID Safety Protocol” page for details on vaccination requirements and other etiquettes
- Please bring your vaccination card (or a photo of it) and show it to our volunteers before entering the building for the first time
- Alternatively, you may email hello@chicagomeditation.org to set up a private Zoom meeting to show your proof of vaccination ahead of time (we can also accommodate FaceTime calls or WhatsApp video chat)
- Check that your internet and audio/video is working beforehand
- Wear comfortable and loose clothing
- Find as quiet a place as possible; while also be understanding of each other should kids/pets, etc. make noise in the background! (we’ll use the “mute” function judiciously)
- For the July 30th session, you will need a space where you can lie down on the floor with your body fully extended. You may also want to use a folded towels/blankets to support your head and neck.
- For moving meditation, please stand in an area that is roomy enough for both arms to extend freely in all directions
- Once you join via Zoom, you may want to switch to Gallery view to get the best visual experience
