On Sunday October 30th, Mr. Tod Nielsen will join us live again, via Zoom, to present the second part of the Special Two-Part Guest Speaker Series: “BUDDHIST ARTS: THE EIGHT GREAT EVENTS IN THE LIFE OF THE BUDDHA" Mr. Nielsen is a member of the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple & Meditation Center and has studied thangka painting under Tsherin Sherpa. He will walk us through the Eight Great Events in the Life of the Buddha, and how they are depicted in Buddhist arts from a range of cultures, styles, and mediums.

On October 30th, we will do a short sitting, and then watch a documentary TV special: “Seven Wonders of the Buddhist World” together. This program takes us across the globe to visit seven of the most famous ancient and modern Buddhist locations, including Bodh Gaya, the Temple of The Tooth, Angkor Wat, and more. at each site, local practitioners will discuss core Buddhist concepts, providing insights into the long and rich history of Buddhism.
On July 31st, we will do a short sitting, and then watch "Saving Mes Aynak" together. Saving Mes Aynak follows Afghan archaeologist Qadir Temori as he races against time, a Chinese mining company, the Taliban, and local politics to save a 5,000-year-old archaeological site in Afghanistan from imminent demolition.
