Meditation + Origami Cranes Folding
December 21, 2019 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm
We will wrap up the year with kindness in action! After meditation, we will fold origami paper cranes (Tsuru in Japanese), which are symbols of peace.
Partnering with Ancient Dragon Zen Gate, this is an activity to support the efforts of Japanese-American Buddhists and American Buddhists to bear witness to the internment of migrant and refugee children and families and promote humane and fair treatment of migrants crossing at our southern border.
The paper crane we make will be presented in Washington D.C. at the “National Pilgriage to Close the Camps” march and rally on June 6, 2020.
No experience is needed – folding instructions and papers will be provided. Children are welcome to join us in folding paper cranes together!
6:15 PM: Door Opens – meditation instructions provided as needed
6:30 PM ~ 6:50 PM: Slow Moving Meditation – to help settle our body & mind
