Special Guest Teacher on: “Ten Paramitas: Ksanti (Patience)”

Rev. Eishin Nancy Easton of Ancient Dragon Zen Gate will join us in-person today, Sat. May 11th, during our regular group session, and give a Dharma talk on the Kṣānti Paramita (Perfection of Patience / Forbearance).  Please join us!

Rev. Eishin Nancy Easton is currently the Assistant Dharma Teacher at Ancient Dragon Zen Gate (ADZG), a Soto Zen Temple in Chicago in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, and she also serves on ADZG’s Board. Eishin was formerly Director and Tenzo (head of the kitchen) at ADZG. She was ordained as a priest by Rev. Taigen Dan Leighton, ADZG’s Guiding Dharma Teacher, in 2011. In 2018, she served as head monk (shuso) for ADZG’s spring practice period. Eishin is a clinical psychologist who has practiced for over 15 years in both college/university and private practice settings. She lives with her husband on the north side of Chicago and has two young adult step-daughters.

On the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of each month, we do some Dharma learning and discussion following meditation, with this schedule:

6:15 PM: Door Opens* – meditation instructions provided if needed

6:30 PM ~ 6:40 PM : Slow Moving Meditation – to help settle our body & mind

~6:45 PM: Sitting Meditation

~7:20 PM: Dharma Learning & Discussion

~8:30 PM: Adjourn

You may attend any or all segments of the evening.

Beginners welcome. No cost to attend. Donations welcome at-the-door to support the continual operations and growth of this group, including the cost of our monthly rent and Meetup subscription fees.

Wear loose comfortable clothing, and please note that shoes are not allowed on the meditation mat.
